Exhibition <Seoul, Mumbai to New Delhi>
Time: 2 Feb - 7 Mar 2018
Place: Korean Cultural Centre India (25A, Lajpat Nagar4, New Delhi)

Seoul, Mumbai to New Delhi presents an archive of processes and experiments that began as public interventions in Mumbai. Within the KCCI, the works take a new form, continuing to evolve in their new contexts.

Kyungwoo Chun’s Dabbawalas Lunch, Taejun Yun’s Keep Silent About What You Cannot Say, Shiv Ahuja’s Timepass and Youngdon Jung’s The Plates of Plate elicit a questioning into our relationship with food, how the action and function of eating - feeding - gathering - nurturing may evoke and provoke nostalgia, memory. Can food really define us, our relations with others – whilst provoking human vulnerabilities?

The pieces that compose these four projects - tiffin boxes, plates, paper packets, leftover food - invite and engage people to rethink about these items whose value is often ignored or taken for granted.

Each of these central objects, removed from their everyday function, are presented here layered with text as records of the relations that were established between the artists - works - people. These narratives can also change - they could smudge, erase, be rewritten reminding us of the fragility of personal memory, spaces and people.
