2020 Korean Cultural Centre India Exhibition Application Guideline [English]


The Korean Cultural Centre India (KCCI) invites applications from Artists, Galleries, and Cultural Organization and other Art Practitioners for the Exhibition Proposal Contest 2020. Exhibition Proposal is not limited to any art form and can include Fine Arts, Visual Arts, Architecture, Crafts, Design and New Media. Through this KCCI hopes to become a hub of dynamic Cultural Exchange between Indian and Korean as well as South Asia Contemporary Art Scene. Each applicant can choose one of the categories based on qualifications mentioned below and the application must to be submitted no later than 30th March 2020(Monday).

Exhibition Proposal 2020 Categories

Category A : For Indian Artists

Proposal Grant- INR 5,00,000

Category B : For Indian-Korean joint Exhibition program

 

*For any Organization/Gallery/ Artist Collectives/Independent Curator from India or Korea who can open a group exhibition participated by both country’s artists.

Proposal Grant- INR 7,00,000 (KRW10,000,000)

Category C: India- Korea Photo Exhibition

 

*For any Organization/Gallery/ Artist Collectives/Independent Curator from India or Korea who can open a group exhibition participated by both country’s artists.

Proposal Grant-INR 5,00,000

(KRW 8,000,000)

Category D : For Asian Artists(group)

Proposal Grant- USD 9,000

Category E: For Organizations from Korea to participate in India Art Fair 2021

Benefits: 15sqm. Booth offered, One Return Airfare Travel Expenses. (Dimension of the Booth offered by India Art Fair cannot be changed)

Period of Exhibition & Venue

For Category A, B, C, D – 6 weeks(between July 2020 to June 2021), Exhibition Hall of Korean Cultural Centre India

For Category E- Depends on the dates of India Art Fair 2021 (Estimated Schedule: From late Jan. to early Feb, 2021, For 4 days) at NSIC Grounds, Okhla, New Delhi

*All Documents should be in PDF/PPT format. *Attach each document with title of Artist Name_File Title(e.g. Ramesh Kumar_Exhibition Proposal) WITHOUT Compacting

1. The Completed Application Form (Use attached form)

2. Artist CV&Portfolio (under 10 MB)

3. Exhibition Proposal

            Must Include content as mentioned below-

    Exhibition Theme, Purpose, Preferred timeline

    Budget breakdown

    list of artworks to be displayed (use attached form)

    Exhibition layout (Only for category A~D applicants, use attached “Floor Plan” of KCCI Exhibition hall)

4. Representative images of artworks to be displayed, In case of video/audio works, attache files of upto 50 mb or less than 5 min or Video/ Youtube  & vimeo links

Announcement of

Results

15th April 2020(Wednesday) (Selected Proposals will be announced first individually and then later will be posted on KCCI website)

Support to be provided

Exhibition Hall and Facilities, Preparing Opening Reception, Distribution of Press Release, Online Promotion through KCCI homepage and Social Media pages.

Terms and Conditions: 

·    Incomplete applications will not be accepted.

·    Please note that the Exhibition grant is essentially a monetary support to the chosen recipients apart from providing an exhibition venue at Korean Cultural Centre India. The grantees will need to oversee all aspects of the exhibition in terms of travel, planning, production (poster, leaflet etc.), installation, uninstallation, programming etc.

·   Short-listed applicants may be asked to submit further details on their project anytime during the selection process.

·   The project should be feasible in terms of costs and scale, should meet the dates set in the timeline. The time period for KCCI to host the exhibition will be between July 2020 to June 2021. The chosen applicants shall discuss with KCCI to arrive at a mutually satisfactory period to host the six-week exhibition within the proposed time period.

·   KCCI has the right to disqualify any proposal that it deems as offensive to cultural, social or religious sentiments, as well as projects that fall short of public safety requirements. The decision to support projects is entirely at KCCI’s discretion.
