Library Rules and Regulations


   

1.  Opening Days & Timings

  • Monday to Saturday: 9:00 AM – 5:00 PM

  • Lunch Break: 12:30 PM – 1:30 PM (Library remains closed during this time)

NOTE: Books and DVDs can only be borrowed from Monday to Friday.


2.  Library Timing Limitations

  • All visitors may only use the library within the stated operating hours.

  • The library will be closed on Korean and Indian government-designated public holidays.

  • Seating capacity: 30

  • All visitors must complete a borrowing application form and present a valid government-issued photo ID (Aadhar Card, Driving License, Voter ID, Passport, etc.) to borrow books or DVDs/CDs. A photocopy of the ID may be retained for library records.

  • Writing, marking, or doodling on any library book, furniture, or property is strictly forbidden.

  • Magazines are not available for borrowing and must be read within the library premises only.

  • The borrower is fully responsible in any case of loss or damage to borrowed books or DVDs/CDs.


In Case of Late Return of Issued Books / DVDs / CDs:

  • Overdue borrowers will be blocked from issuing any books, DVDs, or CDs for a period equal to four times the number of days the item was returned late.

Example: If an item is returned 1 day late, the borrower will be blocked for 1 × 4 = 4 days. If returned 3 days late, the borrower will be blocked for 3 × 4 = 12 days.

  • Any borrower who fails to return an item within 1 month of its due date will be permanently suspended from using the library.


In Case of Losing an Issued Book / DVD / CD:

  • The borrower must replace the lost item with the same title. Failure to do so may result in permanent suspension of borrowing privileges.


4.  General Library Rules

  • No membership is required to access the library. All visitors must collect a library token from the information desk at the entrance and store their bags in the designated storage area near the elevator on the ground floor.

  • For borrowing or returning books and DVDs, please visit the reception desk on the ground floor.

  • Visitors may search for books via the KCCI Library Search Database System (Browse as Guest) on the official KCCI website. Books can be located using the genre and shelf number provided in the system.

  • Food and drinks are not permitted inside the library. Drinking water is allowed.

  • Bottles of ink, correction fluid, and other potentially damaging substances must not be brought into the library.

  • Visitors may use the Secret Garden area adjacent to the library for lunch or refreshments.

  • Silence and proper decorum must be maintained at all times. Seat reservation is not available.

  • Mobile phones, tablets, and laptops may be used only in silent mode so as not to disturb other visitors. Please refrain from making calls inside the library.

  • Please do not place your feet on empty seats or other furniture.

  • Take care of your personal belongings. KCCI will not be responsible for any loss or theft.
