02. Eligibility to Apply

 

Eligible to apply when international applicants satisfy all of the following requirements

 

1. Nationality : Female foreign nationals whose parents are both foreign nationality.

Korean citizens (including dual citizenship of applicant and both parents) will not be considered eligible for admission

Korean who obtained foreign nationals(applicant and both parents) are eligible only if she and her parents obtained their foreign nationals before entering her secondary school(Grade 10) (Only applicable to undergraduate applicants)

 

2. Education : Applicants must meet the following academic criteria.

Applicant must have acquired high school diploma before September 2017.  

Transfer

Applicant must have completed at least 2 years in a university education program before September 2017, and intend to transfer into the third year.

Graduate

Applicant must have completed a four-year-course university or university-equivalent courses and acquired Bachelor’s degree before September 2017.

Doctorate

Applicant must have completed a post-graduate program and acquired Master’s degree before September 2017.

Exception will be made if the country's interdisciplinary academic year and the first day of school are later than those of Korea's by one month or less.

 

3. Language Proficiency Requirement : Applicant must meet one of the following language requirements.

A. The certificate of level 3 or above in Test of Proficiency in Korean(TOPIK) for undergraduate freshmen application, and level 4 for undergraduate transfer or graduate application.

Test of Proficiency in Korean(TOPIK) is recognized only if the transcript is submitted by the application deadline. However, those who take the 50th TOPIK(January 15, 2017) or the 51st TOPIK(March, 18~19, 2017) or the 52nd TOPIK(April, 15~16, 2017) (should summit the test identification first when applying) can be considered to fulfill their language requirement, accepted conditionally. Those who are accepted conditionally should submit the final transcript by May 26, 2017. If one fails to submit the final transcript or meet the above language requirements, the conditional acceptance will be cancelled.    

 

B. Completing level 4 or above of Korean Language Intensive program in Ewha Language Center

The completion of Korean Language Intensive program will be recognized only if the certification is submitted by the application deadline. However, those who are still taking course level 4 during the application period (the certificate of attendance should be submitted first when applying) can be considered to fulfill their language requirement conditionally. Those who are accepted conditionally should submit the certificate of completion as soon as the program is completed. If one fails to submit the certificate of completion or complete the course, the acceptance will be cancelled.

 

C. The following minimum English proficiency test scores: TOEFL(PBT 550, iBT 80), IELTS 5.5, TEPS 550

English Proficiency Test Scores should be submitted before application deadline. Or your English proficiency would not be recognized.

Undergraduate freshmen or Undergraduate transfer applicants who satisfy the qualification with English proficiency can only be admitted to departments or majors whose degree programs are conducted in English. But an applicant who applies for academic programs other than that, can be admitted only if the applicant obtains TOPIK level 3 within a year after admission and TOPIK level 4 before the graduation.

 

D. High school diploma or bachelor’s degree from Korean or English speaking institutions

 

E. Recognition as possessing sufficient proficiency in Korean or English language by Ewha Womans University

 

Applicants admitted to undergraduate courses satisfying Korean language proficiency requirements of ‘A’, ‘B’, ‘D or ‘E’, must gain TOPIK level 4 prior to graduation. If not, the student may not be able to graduate.

A. Applying for scholarship

 

a. Documents to be submitted:

c. Where to submit: Submit the application form with other required documents to the Office of Admissions after registering online

 

B. Selection Method

Recipients will be selected through a comprehensive evaluation of their abilities and potential as a global female leader, based on submitted documents.

 

C. Scholarship Notification

The scholarship result will be notified individually via personal e-mail after the admission announcement.

 

D. Notice

The Ewha International Students Steering Committee may reduce or revoke the scholarship award upon review, if the recipient fails to fulfill eligibility requirements for reasons such as dissatisfaction of GPA requirement or inability to continue attendance at the university or conduct unbecoming of a university student.

The recipients of the ‘scholarship for incoming international students’ must possess a Medical Insurance for the incoming semester in order to be qualified to receive the scholarship

ISS E (Entrance Fee) scholarship will be available to 2017 Fall admission applicants only.
